SATURDAY – September 23, 2023
Famous Gumbo Stroll 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Yes, a ticket for the Gumbo Stroll is required. Discounted tickets can be purchased in advance. Full-price tickets are available on the day of at the festival. (Tickets are not required to attend Shrimp Festival only to do the Gumbo Stroll)
Shrimp Dinner Plate 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Yes, a ticket for the Shrimp Dinner plate is required. Discounted tickets can be purchased in advance. Full-price tickets are available on the day of the festival.

Upon arrival at the festival report to the Information Tent located at 2302 Strand to redeem your wristband, tasting cup, and spoon.

Yes! Families are encouraged to bring their kids. Between the live music, gumbo cook-off, and the Lil’ Shrimps Parade there is sure to be something for everyone!

The Galveston Island Shrimp Festival will take place September 22-23, 2023 and will be held in the Historic Strand District at the intersection of 23rd Street and Strand Street (2302 Strand)
Galveston Island Shrimp Festival: Historic Strand District – Paid parking is available along the streets of Downtown Galveston and there are also paid parking lots available throughout the district.
Shrimp Scamper 5k Fun Run: Beerfoot Brewery, 2816 Avenue R 1/2, Galveston, TX 77550 – Parking is available on the surrounding side streets, as well as paid parking along Seawall.
The UTMB Justin Hughes Fund and the Resource Crisis Center of Galveston County are the beneficiaries of the Shrimp Festival. A portion of the proceeds will go to the organizations.
